Bozeng Tang completed his Ph.D. in Plant Pathology at the University of Exeter in the UK. During his Ph.D., he was awarded the Halpin Scholarship to conduct research on rice blast disease with Professor Nick Talbot, FRS. In 2020, Dr. Tang joined Professor Wenbo Ma's group at The Sainsbury Laboratory, where he pioneered the use of single-cell transcriptomics to study plant-pathogen interactions. He has authored 6 first-author research articles, including publications in Cell Host & Microbe, PNAS, Plant Biotechnology Journal, and New Phytologist. He will develop his own research programs to combine genetics, single-cell genomics, and data science, with a focus on modelling plant-pathogen interactions under climate change and harnessing solutions to prevent future crop diseases.
